Titarosa is truly an amazing charter company! They are professional, fast, and always willing to go the extra mile. The quality of their services and communication is clear and friendly. I feel completely confident coming back to them for any future needs. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable charter company!
A crewed yacht charter in Croatia is usually priced by the week, and the fee depends on the yacht, its size and the month. On top of it, plan for an APA of about 20 to 40% on many yachts, VAT where it is not in the price, and a crew tip.

APA:
The Advance Provisioning Allowance is paid on top of the charter fee and covers running costs during your week, such as fuel, marina and mooring fees, food and drinks. It is usually between 20% and 40% of the charter fee, depending on the yacht, and anything you don’t spend is returned at the end of the charter. Some yachts have no APA. Each yacht card shows its APA.
VAT:
Croatian VAT on a yacht charter with accommodation aboard, such as a crewed week, is 13%. Some yachts are priced with VAT included, others without, in which case VAT is added to the charter fee. Each yacht card says which applies, and your contract shows the final amount.
Crew tip:
Tipping the crew at the end of the week is customary and up to you. The Captain can tell you what is usual for your yacht.
A crewed yacht charter in Croatia usually starts from one of four regions: Split and the central Dalmatian islands, Dubrovnik and the south, Zadar and Šibenik with the Kornati islands, or Istria and Kvarner in the north. Each has its own airport, so the region you choose decides where you fly to and which islands fit into one week.
Example photoBest for: Linking several islands on short passages
Central Dalmatia lets a crewed charter link several islands on short passages from Split.
Brač, Šolta and Hvar are a short sail from the city, and Vis and Korčula a longer one. In summer the afternoon Maestral blows along the channels between the islands, which suits mornings at anchor and sailing after lunch.

Best for: Old towns, Mljet and the Elaphiti islands
South Dalmatia suits a charter built around old towns and island national parks.
From Dubrovnik the Elaphiti islands of Koločep, Lopud and Šipan are a short sail away, and further north-west the western end of Mljet is a national park, founded in 1960. Korčula and the Pelješac peninsula link this region to Central Dalmatia for longer routes.

North Dalmatia is the region for national parks and long days at anchor.
Kornati National Park has 89 islands, islets and reefs, mostly bare stone. From Šibenik a yacht can sail up the Krka river to Skradin, the gateway to Krka National Park, and Telašćica Nature Park is on the island of Dugi Otok.

Best for: Arriving by car from central Europe
Istria and Kvarner, in the northern Adriatic, are the Croatian charter region closest by road to Austria, Germany and northern Italy.
Istria has the harbour towns of Pula and Rovinj and Brijuni National Park, where visiting yachts can moor at Veli Brijun. Kvarner has the islands of Krk, Cres, Lošinj and Rab.

A first week on a crewed yacht in Croatia often starts in Split and loops through the central Dalmatian islands of Brač, Hvar and Vis. Most legs take two to three hours, so the yacht is usually at anchor by lunchtime. The Captain reorders the days around the wind and what your group wants to do.
A week from Split: Brač, Hvar and Vis
Day 1 1.5 h under sail
Split to Milna, Brač
A short first leg to settle in, and dinner on the harbour front.

Day 2 2 h under sail
Milna to Palmižana, Pakleni Islands
Swim stops among the Pakleni Islands, then a water taxi to Hvar Town for the evening.

Day 3 2 h under sail
Palmižana to Vis Town
Across the channel to Vis, with quieter bays.

Day 4 2 h under sail
Vis Town to Komiža, Vis
Round the south coast, with a morning boat trip to the Blue Cave on Biševo if the sea allows.

Day 5 3.5 h under sail
Komiža to Hvar Town
The longest leg of the week, back east to the harbour at Hvar Town.

Day 6 2.5 h under sail
Hvar Town to Stari Grad, Hvar
A slower day ending in Stari Grad, on the north coast of Hvar.

Summer sailing in Croatia is shaped by the Maestral, a north-westerly breeze that fills in around midday after a calm morning, peaks in the afternoon and fades before sunset.
It can blow much harder in narrow channels such as those off Brač and Pelješac. The Bura is a gusty north-easterly off the mountains, less frequent and usually short in summer; the Captain plans around it. The Jugo, a warm south-easterly, brings cloud, rain and bigger waves, mostly in spring and autumn.

On a crewed charter in Croatia the yacht comes with a professional Captain and crew who sail it, moor it and look after your group; crew size depends on the yacht. A skippered charter adds only a hired sailor to run the yacht, so you shop and cook for yourselves. On a bareboat charter you sail the yacht yourselves and need a licence. This page is about crewed charters.
No. On a crewed charter in Croatia the Captain holds the licence and is responsible for the yacht, so no guest needs a licence or any sailing experience. A licence matters only on a bareboat charter: the person in charge needs a boating licence that Croatia recognises, and a VHF radio certificate.

I recently had the pleasure of booking a sailboat through Titarosa, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! The booking process was seamless, with clear communication and prompt responses to all my questions. …
We had an amazing vacation with Tin and Ema as our Skipper and Hostess. They are a great team and our cruise was smooth sailing the entire week. We saw how beautiful Croatia is from the coast and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Thank you so very much! See you next time 😊
What a great team at Titarosa. They helped us with booking and did arrange the whole trip in Split region with 62 foot catamaran. Thanks Tin and Sara and see you again!
Had the best time with Tin and Ema as skippers/hosts. They knew all the right spots, when to go where to avoid crowds, and had great recommendations in every stop, from where to eat to where to anchor, and how to move from boat to shore. …
Amazing Yachting company. Very professional. Answered all our questions. Really helped us and guided us through the reservation process and gave us insight as to the best routes and yachting experience. Thank you for making our vacation memorable.
A crewed yacht charter in Croatia means you charter a yacht with a professional Captain, and usually a host or chef, who sail, cook and look after the yacht. You choose the islands and the pace; the crew handle navigation, mooring and meals, so nobody in your group needs sailing experience.
The charter fee covers the yacht and its professional crew. Running costs such as food, drinks, fuel and marina fees are usually paid from the APA, an advance paid on top of the fee. VAT, park tickets and a crew tip can add to the total. What is included varies by yacht, so check each yacht’s page or ask the Captain.
APA, the Advance Provisioning Allowance, is money paid on top of the charter fee to cover running costs during your week, such as fuel, marina and mooring fees, food and drinks. In Croatia it is usually 20 to 40% of the charter fee, depending on the yacht, and some yachts have none. Anything unspent is returned at the end.
It depends on the yacht. Croatian VAT on a yacht charter with accommodation aboard, such as a crewed week, is 13%. Some yachts are priced with VAT included and others add it on top, so each yacht card states which applies, and your contract shows the final amount.
The yacht charter season in Croatia runs from May to October. June and September bring warm sea, long days and fewer boats than midsummer. July and August are the hottest, busiest and most expensive weeks, and May and October the quietest. Which month suits you depends on your group, and the Captain can talk it through on the free call.
It depends on what you want to see. From Split, Brač, Šolta and Hvar are a short sail away, with Vis and Korčula further out. Dubrovnik suits a week of old towns, the Elaphiti islands and Mljet. From Zadar or Šibenik you reach the Kornati and Krka national parks and Telašćica Nature Park, with long days at anchor.
Catamarans suit families who want space and stability, gulets suit larger groups who want room to spread out, and motor yachts cover more islands in less time. Sailing yachts suit couples and small groups who enjoy the feel of sailing. The Captain helps you choose on the free call.
No. On a crewed charter the Captain holds the licences and is responsible for the yacht, so no one in your group needs a sailing licence or experience. A licence is only needed on a bareboat charter, where you sail the yacht yourselves.
Yes. Tell the Captain which islands, beaches, restaurants and activities you want, such as snorkelling, swimming stops or exploring old towns, and he plans the route around your wishes and the weather. The route stays flexible during the week.
Start with a free 45-minute video call with the Captain. Tell him your dates, group size, budget and the kind of week you want, and within 24 hours you get a hand-picked shortlist of yachts. You pay the same price as booking direct, and the contract and payment go to the licensed charter operator.

Crewed yachts in Croatia come in four main types: sailing yachts, catamarans, motor yachts and traditional wooden gulets. Every one is chartered with a professional Captain. The crew grows with the yacht: a smaller yacht may sail with the Captain alone, most of the yachts we suggest carry a Captain and a host, and larger yachts and gulets add more crew, such as a chef or a deckhand. The Captain matches the type and the crew to your group on the free call.
